Updating Z-Cam Firmware
Overview
This guide covers how to update firmware on Z-Cam cameras used in Move AI capture setups.

Only update to the latest tested version unless advised otherwise.
Before You Start
- Check the current firmware version in Peel Capture before proceeding
- Download and save your camera profiles as a backup — firmware updates can reset settings including EZLink configuration and camera roles
Steps
1. Download the firmware
Go to https://www.z-cam.com/resources/ and download the firmware file for your camera model.
Use version 1.0.14 unless you have been advised to use a newer version.
2. Back up camera profiles
Before applying the update, export and save your camera profiles. Firmware updates have been known to reset:
- EZLink configuration
- Camera roles
3. Check current firmware
Open Peel Capture and note the current firmware version for each camera in your session.
4. Apply the firmware update
Follow the Z-Cam web interface instructions to install the firmware file.

Connect the Z CAM camera to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Access the camera menu and navigate to: Menu > Connect > Network > ETH Mode, then set the mode to Direct.

Check the camera's Ethernet IP address; the default address is 10.98.32.1

Open the browser on your computer and enter the URL: http://10.98.32.1/www/html/controller.html.

The Z CAM Web Client interface will load automatically.

In the client, go to:Settings > Maintenance > Others > Upgrade, then click the Upgrade button.

Select the target firmware file and follow the step to complete.
5. Reconfigure after update
Once the update completes, verify and restore:
- EZLink configuration
- Camera roles
- Any other custom settings that may have been reset
Notes:
- Always back up camera profiles before updating — settings are likely to be reset
- Stick to version 1.0.12 unless explicitly told otherwise by the team
