Troubleshooting the Z Cams

The E2 M4 Mark II will showcase different flashing lights from the front of the camera depending on a particular camera status, see below:

1. Blinking LED Status: Cameras

  1. What's happening:

    1. Blinking Red every 1 second

    2. Blinking Red every 0.5 second

    3. Flashing/Amber: Connection or IP conflict error.
  2. What to do:
    1. Make sure there is an SD card in the camera and it is fully inserted into the.
    2. The SD card is full. Check the remaining storage in Peel Capture or the Z Cam web browser. To reformat your card, see Reformatting the Z-Cams.
    3. Check the small LCD screen on the top of each camera and make sure they are set to independent IPs. If they are matching, you will need to unplug one Z Cam at a time and repeat the setup steps found here. Z-Cam Software Setup

Solid Green LED: Camera is synchronized and ready to record. From here you can begin capturing using Peel Capture.

    2. Camera Sync

    1. What's Happening: EZLink sync is not showing as successful across the Slave cameras:

    2. What to do:

      1. Ensure there is only one Master camera in your setup.

      2. Disconnect all Slave cameras
      3. Reboot Master camera and wait 15 seconds after boot
      4. Reconnect Slave cameras
      5. If the issue persists check camera cabling

You can also check the camera sync status via a HTTP command - http://xxx.xxx.x.xx/camera_status. Use the camera IP followed by /camera_status

    3. IP Connectivity

    1. What's happening: The camera isn't appearing when inputting the Cameras IP
    2. What to do: Confirm your Computer's IP is in the same range (e.g., if cameras are 10.98.32.x, your laptop should be 10.98.32.50).

    4. Exposure Settings

    1. What's Happening: The exposure settings in the Z Cam browser are greyed out and cannot be changed or set.

    2. What to do: Make sure the lens is fully connected to the Z Cam and clicked into the mount. (The lens should not rotate when locked into position.)
