Creating a Session

Sessions are where you set the number of cameras, type of camera and area in which you have shot. It doesn't take long but it's really important to get all of your information at this stage correct, as it has a direct effect on how aim extracts motion capture data from your video.

The platform understands a session as the number of Takes that are linked to a calibration in a certain area. For example, if you shoot indoors in a 5x5m area in the morning with 4 cameras and then in the afternoon you shoot outside in a 10x10m space with 8 cameras, these would be 2 different shoots/sessions.

To create a session, simply press the '+ Session' icon

Next, give your session a title and description, among other pieces of information:

Title: The title of your session

Description: Give your session a description, if you wish

Select camera model and resolution: select desired camera model

It's really important that you pick the correct camera and setting here, or your results will not be as good as they can be!

Number of cameras: Your choices here are between 2 & 8. Keep in mind that more cameras = better quality! For more information on camera setups, look here.

Select Environment: You can select Indoors or Outdoors - make sure this is correct as it applies different settings to each!

Select Area: Your options are Small Area (below 20 square meters) or Large Area (above 20 square meters). Again, this is really important for the quality of the output, so take your time when you set this and make sure it's right!

When you're happy that all of the above information is correct, press 'Save Session'.
